ABSTRACT:

Background: Atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD) remains a leading cause of global morbidity and mortality, driven by complex interactions between genetic, metabolic, and inflammatory pathways. Traditional risk assessment tools often fail to capture individual variability, necessitating advanced biomarker profiling.
Methods and Results: This review synthesizes evidence on novel biomarkers spanning inflammatory cytokines, lipid subfractions, proteomics, and polygenic risk scores. We highlight their roles in early detection, risk stratification, and personalized therapeutic strategies, drawing from clinical trials and cohort studies.
Conclusion: Integrating multi-omics biomarkers offers transformative potential for ASCVD management, but challenges in standardization, cost, and clinical validation persist.
